You have what???….My journey with UC

Not Random at All…

Part of coping with IBD is having a sense of control with the what ifs…. I cary a travel pouch full of items for my what ifs. I recently left mine at the hotel and had to build a new one.

Tums, Imodium, bandaids, lady items, prescriptions, Pep-to, sinus stuff, flashlight, bathroom spray, Tylenol….

U Did It!!

I have to say this made me smile tonight…new sharps container in the mail has this flippy message thing on the lid I had not seen until just now. The jab hurt more than normal… only Humira folks understand and for all the obnoxious material that AbbVie sends… I’ll keep this one : )

Not So Cool…

My poor mans travel pack for my Humira Pen was flagged by TSA. Note to self… the $1.00 ice pack purchased doesn’t cut it. They let me through but explained weak ice packs if thawing is not a good idea. It could be portrayed as something else.

New Year – New Strong

Something is different this year. Even the geranium is blossoming in January!

I am learning a new strong. Learning to recognize what and how healthy feels good again. Its not always that easy but I am excited!! I feel for nano seconds of the day I forget I have IBD… crazy! : )

Keeping in check…

…How good days never should be taken for granted. A quick hike in the woods on this crisp Dec morning. Though my bladder said I should have gone before I started…lol… but whose complaining? Happy Sunday to all.

Soup Season My Friend Has Arrived

Its official! Soup Season has arrived : )

I have such a close relationship with soup. Like today, on a chilly fall Sunday, just making homemade soup in the kitchen I find comfort. Even from a can, soup has always been my best friend in the lowest of IBD days. There is something so healing about a bowl a soup. Today Asiago cheese : )

Humira hang on tight!

Every new med is like a new train ride, never sure where it will take me but I’m willing to go for the ride. The Humira train took 3 months to kick in with the help of prednisone. I won’t call a victory unless I can make it a full year. Im still leery of this medication but this train ride so far has been a good one. Its not to say there haven’t been bumps but Im gonna hang on tight! : )

When the car in front of you drives too slow…

…and all you want to do is push them out of the way to race home & take care of business!

4 months on Humira, 2 months with really good results. I’m trying to bring back a normal social life but I think my guts are saying not so fast!

Traveling lots this month for work, lets see how this goes.
